Partners in Education’s Summer Learning Festivals
Summer learning loss, the phenomenon where young people lose academic skills over the summer, is one of the most significant causes of the achievement gap and a strong contributor to the high school dropout rate. For many young people, the summer “opportunity gap” contributes to gaps in achievement, employment and college and career success.
Summer Learning Stations may include:
Hands-on, inquiry-based activities focused on science, technology, engineering, mathematics, literacy and nutrition. Activites are appropriate for ages 3 and up but we welcome all family members to take part.
We are taking our Summer Learning Festivals on the road.
- June 14 we visited Agape Second Chance Corp in Holland for an evening for fun.
- June 16 we visited Friendship Park Community Center during their Chalk Walk and Ice Cream Social
- Visit us the weekend of August 10 in Promenade Park during JeepFest
