3. What’s Your Sustainability Super Power? Family Night From January 12

What’s Your Sustainability Superpower? features Aaron Leow, an engineer from Kroger Company, and Environmental Specialist and Executive Director of Keep Toledo-Lucas County Beautiful, Adam Cassi, sharing fun experiments that teach us about conservation, preserving our natural resources and great careers in the fields of sustainability and environmental sciences. With a few things you might have at home, we encourage you to joining in the fun with our activities.

4. Adventures in Energy

With the help of BP-Husky Refining’s Frank Kojancic and our own Reed Steele, students learn about the energy industry, have fun with some hands-on experiments and learn about well-paying careers here in the Toledo area and across the globe.  If you have some Play-doh or clay at home, you can join in our core sampling activity, too.

More videos will be posted here or on Facebook at partnerstoledo as they become available.

Spring 2020 Lessons for Students

During the spring of 2020, CCRSG created online versions of the classes we had planned to deliver but could not because of the pandemic. Because we couldn’t be in person with our students, we delivered links to these programs to teachers so students could watch them remotely. And thanks to FCA Foundation, we also distributed materials to engage students at home.

These videos provide a taste of our career readiness curriculum.

All classes can be provided in-person or remotely –  either synchronously (live with our education specialists via Zoom or Google Meet) or asyncronously with interactive games, quizzes and videos for students. Either way, we are here to help schools with support programming throughout COVID-19.

Please contact our program manager, Reed Steele, at 419-242-2122 if you would like more information about this program and our work with area schools.

Financial Literacy Video and Activity

A budget is important because it helps you pay yourself first, prevents you from overspending and allows you to prioritize. Using a budget, you will know how much you spend every day and help you keep track of your money.

  1. Find…
    1. A pencil or pen
    2. A piece of scratch paper or the back of our Financial Literacy Online Lesson flyer you got from school.
  2. Click… on the video to watch it. We will ask for your name and an email. If you don’t have an email, ask your parents if you can use theirs. We are collecting this information so we can record that you completed the lesson.
  3. Follow along with the instructions in the video to do some math calculations that will help you learn to budget.
  4. When the main part of the video is over, please answer the questions to let us know what you learned. The question about your name will tell you your answer is incorrect but don’t worry – keep going. Of course your name is right!
  5. Thank you for watching. We’ll have more lessons online soon.
