Volunteer for Dragon Boat

Volunteer for Dragon Boat

After much consideration, Partners in Education and the Board of Trustees are sad to announce that the Dragon Boat Summer Learning Festival & Races will be canceled this year. Due to the crazy amounts of construction that is going on at International Park and Downtown in general we thought it was best to take the year off and take some time to re-evaluate the event.

Partners in Education would like to thank everyone for their willingness to volunteer. We would also love to invite you to stayed involved by volunteering in other ways. We have many volunteer opportunities throughout the school year, such as our Success Mentors or Mentors in Toledo Schools programs, where you can get involved in helping students succeed. For more information on how you can stay involved, click here.

Partners In Education’s annual Dragon Boat Summer Learning Festival draws over 700 paddle team participants, 100+ event volunteers, and thousands of event spectators to watch the Dragon Boat races and attend our Summer Learning Village. Volunteers can help with loading and unloading the boats, registration of paddlers, extra hands at the Summer Learning Village and much more.

Volunteers times are scheduled between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM depending on where you would like to help. Shift lengths and times vary. Volunteers can choose whatever fits best into your schedule.

We have positions helping with the boats, with team and guest registration, organizing volunteers, helping with entertainment or Summer Learning Village activities, guest services, set-up and clean-up. Every hand and all ages are welcome. This is a great service learning opportunity for middle school, high school and college students. (Ages 16 and up are required for dock hands and paddler helpers)
