Fun, fitness, teamwork, and team-building.  Ideal for corporate, business, church, civic, and school groups. Morning races pit competing businesses against one another for special trophies.

Each team participates in three races during this unique one-day event.  The course begins across from the Owens Corning World Headquarters building in front of the Docks restaurants and races to the finish line near the lagoon at International Park.

RACE DAY ACTIVITIES

  • No admission fee!
  • Live entertainment
  • Demonstrations of ancient Chinese musical instruments
  • Children's area with many activities including Chinese crafts, calligraphy, origami, face painting
  • Chinese kite making and flying, as well as Chinese yoyo demonstrations for children of all ages!

WHAT IS A DRAGON BOAT?

Boats used during the Great Maumee River Dragon Boat festival are 40 feet long and hold up to 20 paddlers, plus a steersman and a drummer. These Hong Kong style Dragon Boats are modeled after the ancient Chinese Dragon Boat design, complete with dragon's head and tail.

The Great Maumee River Dragon Boat Festival raises funds to support the mission of Partners In Education of Toledo.
